Boundaries

I need em.

‘Nuff said.

Been overloaded, this is why there have been no love-notes form me since January. This is unacceptable.
The good news is I am working at identifying and cleaning up my boundaries so I can lend more focus to my health and this biz I love. See you soon!! I promise!! I intend to get a new post up by the 15th.

Also – A new newsletter is in the works, so If you wanna keep a finger on the pulse of this fiber network I am building, before anyone else gets it, in your mailbox with updates on deals/selling events/collaborations, subscribe……

Herstory…

My herstory (vs. history – I am a woman. it is my story – it is my her-story) is long and convoluted. I don’t have the patience, memory, or time to go into ALL of it, but I was pondering while making yesterday. I was warping my loom in the quiet of the morning. The puppies had all eaten and poo’ed and gone back to bed. I was taking notice of the tchotchkes and mementos I keep around the home that have worked their way into my daily life. I was taking notice of the places I have been and how I……

Busy? or Calm? or BOTH?

Busy is good! No stagnation. Object in motion stays in motion, etc. etc etc.

Calm is good! Peacefulness, mindfulness, rest and self care, etc. etc. etc.

Being able to balance the two is GREAT! (I sure don’t think I have gotten even close to mastering that yet… )

I am happily active in a few big things that end up taking up a majority of my time.

One is my day job. I am working for a local, family owned business that is full of sports fans and is focused on quality of work, not personal appearance. This allows me the freedom to be myself……

Grey-scale of time

Time.
We all have a bunch. Or a little. Based on perspective.
My opinion is that how you choose to use your time is tied into your core being. I understand that while this may not be everyone view, it is my bloggity and is full of my assertions. So. Read on. I continue to consume a small part of your time in showing what I observe, and listen and watch and realize as I troop around on this big blue marble. What is amazing to me, as I age, is that many have no idea how they handle (or……

Gifts of Knowledge

I want to be able to provide some value to the world around me besides just making things to keep you warm and me happy.

Based on my 16+ years of knitting experience and years of other arts/crafts/interests and experiences in my over 40 years, I have a few bits of goodness to share.

1) Taking a risk is good. You never know how amazing this thing is going to be until you do it. You can be smart and not take “stupid risks” that endanger your life or the lives of others, but maybe risking a new stitch idea or slapping 2 colors……

Time, dreams, making joy.

I need your help.

Wondering how may people out there have ideas constantly bouncing around in their noggins? What do you do about it?

I am always at a state of needing more time to make the things I am dreaming of in my head. I need to do “normal” (and sometimes less fun) things like work full time to pay the mortgage, do the dishes/laundry, clean out garden beds, play with the pooches, take out the trash, etc.
We all do.
While these things are VERY important to my life, my health and my ability to live, they are also necessary……

Impostor Complex and Support.

HEY!!

You!!

Women, artists, mothers, makers, aunties, entrepreneurs, daughters, business owners, wives, inventors… This is directed at you. And your mates. And your friends. And anyone that has dreams.

I am not terribly savvy to the land of the podcast. Still, an amazing friend that is a stunning creative turned me onto a few particular podcasts I have been listening to since about May of this year. They are basically my “driving music” now (and listening juice on sporadic runs). Might as well take that time to learn stuff and learn about my self and others doing what I want to do, right?……
