Manifesto

Lets start with a little definition:

noun  man·i·fes·to \ˌma-nə-ˈfes-(ˌ)tō\

  • a written statement that describes the policies, goals, and opinions of a person or group

Got it – here is MY manifesto. This is both as kNiTpUnK and as an individual.

I believe that….

  • style is our own to decide
  • each person’s style is unique
  • memories compile to create the whole person
  • Education is a constant, even when we are not in class we learn from experiences
  • Passion can sneak up on you
  • Everyone deserves to feel loved and cherished
  • Items that are made well last
  • Sustainability is NOT just a buzzword
  • Punk is not just an image/music
  • Anarchy does not have to be violent
  • Laughter is a personal right that should be exercised daily
  • Color should be bold

I want to live in a world where…

  • Young men and women can be anything they work for
  • Gender socializing is something that happened “in the old days”
  • Belief belongs to everyone without hate, even if they are different from their neighbors beliefs
  • Mental illness is treated with the same effort as physical illness
  • Depression is not lonely, people have support
  • Love is both internal and external, not hidden from the world
  • Joy is abundant
  • Real foods are healthy and available everywhere
  • Success is viewed as a way of living, not an income
  • Working hard does not keep you from having time to also play hard
  • Being yourself is celebrated
  • Being honest, candid, kind is SOP (Standard Operating Procedure)
  • Being in your moment is viewed as precious and valuable

I refuse to…

  • Be quiet, light or dainty to fit another’s ideal
  • To be defined by my appearance
  • Curtail my humor and laughter
  • Be pidgin-holed
  • Give up on education
  • Put money/work before family/love
  • Allow the opinions of others define any of:
    • My joy
    • My dreams
    • My abilities
    • My limits
    • My goals

I choose to be….

  • Bold
  • Sustainable
  • Handmade
  • Full of character
  • A strong, honest, unique, independent female role-model
  • A loving individual
  • Someone that notices the small things
  • Actively creating objects of joy and beauty for myself and others
  • Surrounded in laughter
  • Willing and able to teach/share what I have learned
  • Willing to support those around me
  • Able to provide an ear and a shoulder and a hug
  • Able to YELL with all my lungs
  • The crazy woman with a big flag
  • Able to cry out loud and ask for a shoulder when I am feeling vulnerable
  • Laughing and dancing until I die
